PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist International Group Tax team in meeting direct and indirect tax filing obligations for all UK entities:

  • Build relationship with finance, legal and other relevant information holders to improve collation and review of information pertinent to compliance work.
  • Assist with automating the compliance process and reducing the need for external advisers where appropriate including preparing draft returns.
  • Review written and oral advice from advisers, challenging assumptions and seeking the highest quality advice.
  • Where necessary, take additional advice from our broader adviser network in relation to matters of significant complexity or uncertainty. Digest advice received and communicate key matters to tax and non-tax stakeholders and interpret implications for advice of primary compliance adviser
  • Ensure careful documentation of tax positions taken creating a permanent file and communicating areas that represent an opportunity for future change.
  • Assist with the improvement of tax process and controls (from planning through compliance)
  • Pro-active management of the compliance processes and supporting files to expedite delivery of obligations each year. 


Assist tax aspects of the implementation of tax technology solutions

  • Assist with the identification of opportunities to implement technology/automation to improve business outcome and reduce manual input.
  • Support development of business case for improvement projects for communication to relevant stakeholders, including justification for time and cash cost to implement vs. other available opportunities.


  • Opportunities to support the broader International Tax Group with wider tax projects on an adhoc basis, such as:
  • Involvement with foreign tax compliance covering direct and indirect taxes
  • Assist in the production of US GAAP compliant tax provision and explanatory documentation in relation to company's non-US operations
  • Assist with transfer pricing compliance by ensuring documentation and processes are compliant with local and international law
  • Support tax compensation team
  • Support funds tax team
  • Assist with the tax team budget, relating to company's management group business
  • Prepare presentations and training materials and assist with the delivery of such to wider company group stakeholders
  • Assisting with the development and structuring of our growing management company group


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: (Academic, Professional, Relevant Job Knowledge, Skills)

  1. Minimum 5 years post qualification experience in Taxation
  2. Chartered Accountant or equivalent qualification. Preference for candidate that also has ADIT/ CTA or similar qualification.
  3. Experience of working on UK tax compliance is desirable
  4. Candidate having a basic understanding of transfer pricing compliances is a plus
  5. Good understanding of Microsoft office and in particular Excel.
  6. Clear and concise verbal and written communication style with ability to adapt to needs and experience of audience
  7. Excellent organizational skills are vital. Role requires individual to be able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously across a variety of products and reporting lines
  8. Highly personable, with ability to influence and create relationships across the globe
  9. Flexible working style, with a need to work closely with colleagues across time zones on certain projects
