Building a software defined, regionalized network that is scalable leveraging cloud infrastructure is a key enabler to drive this transformation.To help lead this initiative, we are seeking an innovative and hands-on Sr. Network Engineer for our Property Network Operations Engineering team overseeing Marriott’s next generation network infrastructure at our 9,000+ properties globally. This position supports daily operations in the engineering and maintaining SD-WAN, routing, switching, and firewall network solutions. If you understand branch office network connectivity and security, this could be the role for you. We are looking for a leader who has proven hands-on experience in: Design and implementation experience in different networking technologies such as Route & Switch networks, Firewalls, WAN, Network Monitoring Tools, and Network security infrastructure.Experience supporting a global enterprise network with 4,000+ branch sites or similar scale service providers in areas of SD-WAN, routing, switching, and firewalling. Operating networks and managing KPIs for network availability and performance. Managing IP Address resources including for IPv4, IPv6, and RFC1918 space. Driving operational processes to improve network uptime, performance, and recovery. Leveraging network instrumentation and automation to identify meaningful insights from network performance. Job Responsibilities:As an individual contributor or member of a project team support successful implementation of property network projectsProvides technical input to the overall architectural and operational discussions around property network infrastructure and tools.Act as an active contributor in delivering our products on time by participating and delivering work through scrum practices.Conducts research, design and implementation of Network infrastructure solutions and builds standard practices across property network operations.Make recommendations to improve Network automation solutions that enhance the operations and cost structures of the Marriott environment Create and make available project documentation with a focus on communicating technical features and functions of solutions Works closely with department leadership and service providers to support alignment of plans with solution delivery Participates in and suggests improvements to standards configuration, change management processes and practicesDevelop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects and tasks Managing Projects and Priorities:Functions as a strategic senior technical expert within the department.Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.Champions leaders’ vision for product and service delivery.Makes and executes the necessary decisions to keep moving forward toward achievement of goals.Provides direction and assistance to other teams regarding projects.Determines priorities, schedules, plans and necessary resources to promote completion of any projects on schedule.Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.Reviews vendor proposals and selects appropriate vendors for services/technologies/hardware. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of function-specific procedures.Applies knowledge / judgment to achieve business goals.Foresees, identifies and resolves problems.Keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to your job.Performs other reasonable duties as required for this position.Skill and Experience :4-6 years’ experience as a Network Engineer with Designing and Implementing complex networking.2+ years’ experience being part of a network operations teamExperience working in a Scrum team or other Agile methodologiesExperience in researching emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products and synthesizing into clear technology roadmaps and strategiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of audiences including executives, business stakeholders, and IT teamsImplementation of SD-WAN, LAN, and branch networks with a focus on mission-critical, customer-facing applications and servicesTechnical knowledge in networking (Cisco and non-Cisco) with an emphasis on branch networks, SD-WAN, LAN, Network security and Management tools and core network services such as DNS, NTP & IPAM.Demonstrated experience in delivering written documents detailing network solutions and diagramsEducation and Certifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field experience / certificationCertification in network and/or security technologies (e.g., CCIE, CCNP, CISSP, Cisco DevNet,etc.)Work location: Hyderabad, India.Work mode: HybridMarriott’s core values:At Marriott, our core values make us who we are.
