About the role:
We have a permanent opportunity for an experienced Contracts Specialist in our Principal Contracts Team to draft, develop and establish contracts for the procurement of goods and services including Capital works projects.
You’ll be based in Leederville. It’s a lively suburb, with plenty of places to eat and hang out, and you’re only 5-minutes away from the nearest train station - An easy commute when you’re heading into the office.
What the role will involve:
· Develop Procurement Plans for critical or high risk non-works contracts and ensures that such plans fulfil the needs of the business.
· Preparing and drafting bidding documentation for critical and high-risk non-works contracts.
· Preparing and drafting Australian Standards contract (AS4000)
· Preparing and managing tender evaluation plans, evaluation meetings and writing evaluation reports.
· Resolves commercial and contractual issues and assists with the resolution of technical issues during the tender assessment and evaluation process.
· You will work directly with Project Managers, provide a comprehensive procurement service and advice for assigned capital works projects.
· Preparing letters of acceptance and contracts and organises the execution and issuance of these documents.
· Liaising with internal customers and suppliers and contractors on contractual issues and on commercial and policy matters in relation to contractual terms and conditions.
Key skills and experience:
You will have extensive experience in development of contracts for goods, works and services, particularly in engineering and construction. A qualification in Construction, Engineering or Law will be highly desirable along with substantial experience within a similar role.
Your ability to build and drive positive and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders will be important in this role. You will have a solid understanding of contract law and principles and be familiar with Australian Standard Contracts (AS4000). You will have the ability to work autonomously and in a team. Be personable and approachable with a strong focus on customer service.
