Job Description:


The Equity Fund Manager is a direct company appointment employment with significant strategic importance. The Equity Fund Manager is responsible for Portfolio Management, Investment Decision Making, Risk Management, and Performance Monitoring. The incumbent will be accountable for planning and executing strategies to build a strong equity funding for long-term growth through close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities: 


Incumbents will be responsible for understanding the products and processes for long-term growth in the insurance distribution practice targeting farmers and cultivators, as well as app downloads, by adhering to the responsibilities stated below.


Portfolio Management:

  • Construct and manage equity portfolio in line with the fund’s investment strategy and objectives.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis on potential investment opportunities, considering factors such as financial performance, industry trends, and economic conditions.


Investment Decision Making:

  • Make informed buy/sell/hold decisions based on comprehensive research, financial modelling, and market trends.
  • Stay updated on market news, economic indicators, and relevant geopolitical events that may impact the portfolio.


Risk Management:

  • Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential downsides and ensure the portfolio aligns with the risk tolerance of investors.
  • Monitor and assess the overall risk exposure of the fund, adjusting as necessary.


Performance Monitoring:

  • Regularly evaluate the performance of the portfolio against benchmarks and peer funds.
  • Provide detailed performance reports to stakeholders, including top management.


Communication:

  • Communicate investment strategies, portfolio performance, and market outlook to stakeholders.
  • Address inquiries and concerns, maintaining a high level of transparency and professionalism.


Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to uphold ethical standards and adhere to all applicable laws.


Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with research analysts, dealers, and other team members to gather insights and make well-informed decisions.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment within the investment team.


Continuous Learning:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and new investment strategies.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities and certifications to enhance expertise.

  


Experience:


  • Proven experience as an equity fund manager, preferably in a general insurance company minimum 10 years


Competencies / Skills:


  • Strong understanding of financial markets, investment principles, and risk management.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to make informed investment decisions.
  • Knowledge of IRDAI regulations and compliance requirements.


Educational Qualification:


  • Graduate + Postgraduate in finance domain or Charted Accountant
