The Role
The role of Literacy Coordinator is part of the Curriculum team within the Teaching and Learning directorate. We have 5 office sites across the state, and this role will be based at our Leederville office.
The Literacy Coordinator is a key leadership role in the Curriculum team and is responsible for coordinating the work of the Literacy team. Along with coordinating the work, the Literacy Coordinator will advance the Teaching and Learning Directorate’s strategic priorities, especially the Vision for Learning and Literacy Frameworks.
Maintaining connections with national and international literacy networks together with representing CEWA at key national meetings is also a key responsibility of the role.
This is a full-time ongoing position commencing 1 January 2026.

We are seeking a Literacy professional with the following:
Alignment with CEWA’s Vision for Learning, LINK including a deep understanding of the Literacy Position Statement and Literacy Frameworks, and the ability to embed these into practice. Comprehensive knowledge of effective pedagogical practices in Literacy, with the capacity to model and support evidence-based teaching strategies. Recent and relevant school-based experience, showcasing a strong track record of leading and improving Literacy teaching and learning. Expertise in current Literacy issues, initiatives, and research, with the ability to translate theory into impactful classroom practice. Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated experience in interpreting and applying data to inform Literacy instruction and school improvement.Information for Applicants
