Network Lead

Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of Livlong Insurance's network and IT infrastructure as a Deputy Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Network Design and Architecture:
    • Develop and implement network architecture strategies to support business requirements, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
    • Design and implement WAN/LAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks, to optimize network performance and availability.
  • Infrastructure Deployment and Maintenance:
    • Lead the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of server infrastructure, storage systems, virtualization platforms, and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
    • Ensure the integrity and availability of IT infrastructure components, including servers, storage, operating systems, and middleware.
  • Network Security and Compliance:
    • Implement and enforce network security policies, protocols, and best practices to protect data, systems, and infrastructure from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
    • Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing; implement remediation measures as necessary to maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Monitoring and Performance Optimization:
    • Monitor network and infrastructure performance, analyze network traffic patterns, and optimize network configurations to ensure efficient operation and resource utilization.
    • Configure and maintain network monitoring tools and dashboards to proactively identify and address performance issues and outages.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of network engineers and infrastructure specialists, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
    • Assign tasks, set priorities, and conduct performance evaluations to ensure team members meet objectives and professional development goals.
  • Vendor Management and Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with external vendors, service providers, and contractors to procure network equipment, software, and services; manage vendor relationships and contracts effectively.
    • Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate agreements, and oversee vendor performance to ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and project timelines.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate documentation of network diagrams, infrastructure configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and incident reports.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations on network and infrastructure performance, project status, and recommendations for continuous improvement to senior management.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CompTIA Network+, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or equivalent preferred. Proven experience in network engineering, infrastructure management, or a similar role, with hands-on experience in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.

Skills:

Deep understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall technologies. Proficiency in configuring and managing enterprise-level networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs). Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, HyperV), cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure), and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Strong knowledge of network security principles, practices, and technologies (e.g., IDS/IPS, SIEM, encryption). Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team. Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate across departments. Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex network and infrastructure issues promptly.
