Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to lead the **R&D and in-house manufacturing** of advanced scientific instruments. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of product development, from concept through to final production, ensuring high standards in design, quality, and performance.


**Key Responsibilities**

- **Lead R&D efforts** to develop innovative scientific instruments, ensuring they meet industry standards and market needs.

- Manage the **end-to-end product lifecycle**, including concept design, prototyping, testing, and transitioning into large-scale manufacturing.

- **Oversee in-house manufacturing** processes, ensuring efficiency, product quality, and timely production.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in mechanical, electronics, optics, and software to create fully integrated products.

- Develop and optimize **designs for manufacturability**, ensuring scalability while maintaining high-performance standards.

- Establish and implement **quality control protocols** to ensure that all products meet international regulatory and compliance standards (ISO, CE, etc.).

- Drive continuous improvement in product design, production methods, and materials to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

- Work closely with procurement and internal manufacturing teams to ensure the availability of components and seamless production flow.

- Lead the development of technical documentation, including **design specifications, testing protocols, and user manuals**.

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and production staff.


**Required Qualifications**

- **Bachelor’s or Master’s degree** in **Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering**, or a related field.

- **5-10 years** of experience in **R&D and manufacturing** within the **biotechnology, life sciences, or medical devices industry**.

- Proven experience in the **design and development of scientific instruments**, with a strong understanding of mechanical, electronic, and optical systems.

- Hands-on experience with **in-house production** and the ability to optimize manufacturing processes.

- Proficiency in **CAD software** (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and knowledge of prototyping techniques.

- Strong understanding of **quality control and regulatory standards** (ISO, CE, FDA).

- Excellent **project management skills** with the ability to manage timelines and lead cross-functional teams.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to innovate in both design and manufacturing.

- Experience in **lab automation technologies** and familiarity with **sensor systems** used in life sciences equipment.

- Knowledge of **automation** and **process optimization** for scaling production.

- Background in **product commercialization** and supply chain management for internal manufacturing.
