Objective :

The Commodity Manager (CM) role is an essential function in supporting Carestream Health’s strategic procurement initiatives, as such, the CM will be an integral part of our purchasing organization. In this role, the CM will be empowered to deliver value across assigned commodity categories. The CM is expected to perform sourcing, negotiation & contract activities. The CM will partner with internal clients to analyse & rationalize technology and professional service deals. This CM position will provide commodity management service to both India & Asia-pacific regions.


Key Responsibility :


Commodity Category Skills:


The CM should have knowledge & experience in the “Indirect” commodity categories including but not limited to: Marketing, Benefits, Logistics, Warehousing & Transportation, Professional Services, Travel, Fleet, Contract Labor, IT/IS/Telecom, Other Equipment Manufacturing (OEM), Capital, Non-capital Services, and Maintenance Repair Operations (MRO), and Real Estate.

• The CM will be expected to continue to grow their experience in the above- mentioned commodity categories. As such, commodity categories are typically rotated for the benefit of employee development & cross-training.

• The CM will be the primary point of contact for internal clients & external suppliers as related to the assigned commodity categories.

• The CM will be expected to track spend & productivity savings on a monthly / annual basis.

• The CM must maintain compliance with corporate policies & procedures and also ensure that internal clients maintain compliance.


Strategic Sourcing:


Utilization of functional knowledge of Strategic Sourcing, Commodity & Category Management, Supply Chain Management, Procurement Market Analysis, Commercial Terms & Conditions, and OEM Manufacturing.

• Align with internal clients, generate & evaluate Request For Information (RFI), Request For Quotation (RFQ), Request For Proposal (RFP), Statement Of Work (SOW), and other.

• Negotiate pricing & terms, negotiate, and write confidentiality agreements, supply agreements, consignment agreements, termination letters, and other contract documents for assigned commodity categories.

• Define and establish the strategic sourcing process (including all phases of marketplace or benchmark analysis, understanding index & feedstock pricing, E-auction, bundling, and supplier identification.

• Work with internal clients to drive electronic auctions where possible.

• Negotiate and manage payment terms to the corporate net 60-day standard, ensure suppliers are paid timely, and intervene to resolve payment delays promptly.

• Manage domestic & international suppliers and supply chains. Understand the global logistics markets to better enable the efficient & cost-effective movement of purchased or produced items across the globe.


Client & Vendor Relationships:


Work effectively with both internal clients and external supplier personnel, at all levels, including senior management.

• Translate client requirements into actionable sourcing plans. Ability to integrate purchasing strategies with internal client objectives.

• Build strong supplier relationships, manage supplier assessment, implement & monitor ongoing supplier key performance indicators (KPIs) & supplier scorecards. Drive ongoing cost reductions & continuous improvements.

• Document and manage supplier spend, supplier cost, delivery & quality targets using established commodity strategies. Collect and report savings productivity, achievements & supply issues timely.

• For hardware & logistics related commodities, establish Business Resumption Plans (BRP) with key suppliers. The BRP will serve as the collective agreement on how the supplier would provide noninterrupted services to CSH.


Analytical:


Identification & evaluation of suppliers to include but not limited to capabilities, financial stability, reputation, compliance to regulations, and cost, quality, delivery & risk track record.

• Plan, organize, and analyse data to enable decision making or to build recommendations on sourcing strategies with implications for vendor selection, including Total Cost of Ownership analysis.

• Analyze and solve problems important to the success of the organization or company.


Job Requirement:


Bachelors in any stream.

• Minimum 2 years procurement, sourcing, or commodity management experience.

• Must be bi-lingual Hindi & English

• Travel as required. Must have the ability to obtain a Passport. Willingness and the experience to travel, both domestically and internationally.

• Work in a self-managed team environment with minimal direct supervision, Self-Motivator.

• Track record of delivering or exceeding expectations.

• Effective personal computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email, and Internet. Experience utilizing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. SAP/Ariba preferred.

• Innovative and results oriented with a high degree of professional and ethical behaviour. Ability to effectively influence others and manage sensitive situations.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills, and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively.

• Sensitivity to different cultures and global country practices.

• Business & financial acumen, ability to function as business partner through teaming, with the ability to motivate, influence and drive change in a collaborative and effective way
