Join us as we pursue our purpose to make the world work better for everyone.Job Description :ServiceNow is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineer in Platform Persistence to solve problems in management of data lifecycles within the ServiceNow ecosystem.This pivotal role focuses on ensuring the efficient stewardship of data within our platform.The Platform Persistence team is at the forefront of some of the most impactful projects, offering visibility to the executive leadership.As part of this team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our platform's data architecture and ensuring that data is stored, retrieved, and managed efficiently.In addition to traditional data management, this team will have a unique focus on telemetry and data visualization, making a substantial impact on how customer and platform data is utilized and presented.What You Get To Do In This Role :- Writing highly scalable code leveraging best practices on concurrency and memory utilization.- Help in data management strategies, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and security.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data-related initiatives.- Explore and experiment with challenging data problems including but not limited to data loss detection & recovery.- Champion data best practices and security standards across the organization.- Monitor and optimize data performance, troubleshooting and implementing improvements as needed.- Stay current with the latest data storage and management technologies.- Fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.Qualifications :To be successful in the role :- Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.- Experience in using AI Productivity tools such as Cursor, Windsurf, etc is a plus or nice to have.- Bachelors or masters degree in computer science or a related field.- 10 to 14 years of software development experience within a high-traffic, cloud-based environment.- Proficiency in Java programming and strong expertise in data structures and algorithms.- Proficiency with concurrency and parallel programming concepts.- Deep knowledge of databases, data modeling, and data storage technologies.- Strong relational database experience to handle large amount of data on relational systems.- Strong understanding of cloud-based and distributed systems.- Proven experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams.- Familiarity with ServiceNow platform is a plus.- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.- Familiar with various unit/integration test framework and TDD test practice to ensure code quality.- Working knowledge of JavaScript is beneficial for cross-functional collaboration.Additional Information :Work Personas :We approach our distributed world of work with flexibility and trust.Work personas (flexible, remote, or required in office) are categories that are assigned to ServiceNow employees depending on the nature of their work and their assigned work location.Equal Opportunity Employer :ServiceNow is an equal opportunity employer.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin or nationality, ancestry, age, disability, gender identity or expression, marital status, veteran status, or any other category protected by law.In addition, all qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with legal requirements.
