Prayagraj, India Bethanie Full time

Bethanie is a leading not for profit aged care provider based in Western Australia. For 70 years, we have been empowering ageing Australians to lead their most meaningful lives by recognising ‘old age’ as a positive force in society and giving a voice to those who have seen it all and live to tell the tale.

We’re on a mission to create a better world not just for ageing Australians, but their communities as well, and we believe that to make this difference, you need the right people by your side. We believe that’s what makes us truly different

We currently have an opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join the team at Bethanie Beachside Aged Care Home located in Yanchep. Co-located with a retirement village, Bethanie Beachside is one of our larger sites with 160 beds and provides specialised high level acuity, dementia and palliative care.

If you share our passion for person centred therapy services and promoting a positive ageing experience for older people, we would love to hear from you

In this role, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of customer centred therapy and lifestyle programs, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to improve the quality of life of our residents.

This role is offered on a fixed term part time basis, covering a period of parental leave until November 2026, with the potential for extension. The successful applicant will work 28 hours per week across four or five days, with the roster negotiable and to be discussed further at interview.

Our Therapy Team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, a Senior Dietitian and a Senior Speech Pathologist. The Therapy Team is further supported by a full time Allied Health Manager. In addition, this role will be directly supported by a Senior Therapy Team Lead with a decade of experience as a Physiotherapist in aged care.

We will consider applicants at all levels of seniority, so those with less experience or new graduates are encouraged to apply, as we can offer clinical support and professional development opportunities tailored to you. This is your chance to gain some exposure to the rewarding sector of aged care

About the Role:

  • Complete therapy assessments and respond to clinical referrals
  • Plan and implement individual or group therapeutic activities, whilst working with an interdisciplinary team to maintain an effective referral system and coordinate therapy implementation
  • Direct and coordinate Therapy Assistants
  • Maintain appropriate clinical documentation and information systems
  • Contribute to a multidisciplinary program of continuous improvement
  • Incorporate aged care quality standards into all services
  • Synthesise information, through observation and written documentation, to provide recommendations that are relationship centred and informed by evidence based best practice
