About The Role

  • Manage projects from prototype to production.
  • Design for manufacturing(DFM), Design for assembly(DFA) and Design for Service(DFS) keeping into consideration the fabrication processes and tolerances
  • Design components for various fabrication processes such as Fiber-Reinforced composites, 3D printing, metal machining and injection molding
  • Design enclosures for electronic components and accessories
  • Generate 2D drawings and other relevant documentations for components and assemblies
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing team and design Tools and Fixtures needed for manufacturing and assembly of components
  • Collaborate with the electronic design team and aircraft design team for a streamlined product development
  • Design mechanical, electro-mechanical subsystems for UAV
  • Plan and execute tests needed for worthiness of the product
  • Provide assistance in material selection, process selection, BOM generation and vendor identification

  • Experience with DIY design and manufacturing
  • Good understanding of structures and strength of materials
  • Understanding of machines and mechanisms
  • Working knowledge of surface finish and engineering tolerances
  • An eye for detail and diligent attitude towards design
  • Ability to reverse engineer CAD models from real-life observations and measurements


What are we looking for

  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Design or any other relevant discipline
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in Fusion 360 or similar CAD tools
  • Ability to create and interpret engineering drawings
  • Good 3D visualization intuition and hands-on skills
  • Firsthand working knowledge of materials, tooling & fixtures, fiber reinforced composites and precision machining.
