Windchill Migration Engineer

Role Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled Windchill Migration Specialist with extensive experience in Windchill migration using Windchill Bulk Migrator (WBM). The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of PLSQL, Pentaho Transformation, and Windchill administration.

The primary responsibility will be to lead and execute Windchill migration projects using WBM, ensuring smooth data transition while adhering to project timelines and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead end-to-end Windchill migration projects utilizing Windchill Bulk Migrator (WBM) tool.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand migration requirements, including data mapping, transformation rules, and validation criteria.

- Develop and execute migration plans, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity throughout the process.

- Configure and optimize Pentaho Transformation jobs for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.

- Design and implement PLSQL scripts to support data migration, validation, and cleanup activities.

- Conduct thorough testing of migration processes to identify and resolve issues proactively.

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members on Windchill migration best practices and methodologies.

- Work closely with system administrators to ensure seamless integration of migrated data into the Windchill environment.

- Monitor migration performance and provide regular updates to stakeholders, highlighting any deviations from the plan.

- Document migration procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guidelines for future reference.

- Stay updated with the latest advancements in Windchill and Pentaho technologies, incorporating relevant enhancements into migration processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- 5-8 years of hands-on experience in Windchill administration and data migration, preferably in manufacturing or engineering industries.

- Proficiency in PLSQL programming for data manipulation, querying, and performance tuning.

- Strong understanding of Pentaho Transformation toolset, including job design, scheduling, and monitoring.

- Extensive experience with Windchill Bulk Migrator (WBM) tool, including configuration, customization, and troubleshooting.

- Solid grasp of data migration principles and best practices, with the ability to analyze complex data structures and relationships.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results within defined timelines.

- Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at various levels of the organization.

- Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale migration projects from planning to execution.

- Certifications in Windchill administration or data management (preferred).
