Location: New Delhi. Reporting to: Railway Division Business Head.- The role involves driving sales, developing long-term relationships with key decision-makers in Railways and other government agencies, as well as overseeing the end-to-end sales process from lead generation to contract finalization. Key Responsibilities:. Sales Strategy & Planning: - Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet or exceed the sales targets in the railway and government sector. - Identify new business opportunities and stay updated on government policies and initiatives related to the railway industry. - Manage the entire sales cycle, including bidding processes, client negotiations, and finalization of contracts. Client Relationship Management:. - Build and maintain strong relationships with key government bodies, especially Railways, Railway Boards, PSUs, and other relevant stakeholders. - Serve as the primary point of contact for government clients, addressing inquiries and providing customized solutions. - Manage customer expectations and ensure timely delivery of products and services. Tender & Contract Management:. - Lead the preparation and submission of bids and tenders, ensuring compliance with all specifications, technical requirements, and regulations. - Coordinate with the internal teams (technical, legal, finance) to ensure smooth processing of contracts and sales agreements. - Monitor and track all sales orders and ensure timely delivery as per client requirements. Market Research & Reporting: - Conduct in-depth research on market trends, competitor activity, and upcoming railway projects funded by the government. - Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on sales performance, market analysis, and potential risks. Negotiation & Closing Deals:. - Effectively negotiate contract terms, pricing, and conditions with government stakeholders, ensuring profitability and long-term business relations. - Ensure successful closure of deals, providing the necessary follow-up to ensure client satisfaction. Key Qualifications: Education: - Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related fields A postgraduate degree (MBA/PGDM) is a plus. Experience: - Minimum of 4-8 years of experience in government sales, with a focus on the railway sector. -Experience in handling government tenders, contracts, and negotiations is essential. - Proven experience working with Railways, government PSUs, or other governmental bodies related to the transport or infrastructure sectors. Skills & Competencies:. - Strong understanding of the railway industry, government procurement processes, and the government's policies related to railway modernization. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence key decision-makers. - Strong analytical, negotiation, and project management skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - High attention to detail, with the ability to navigate complex bidding and tendering processes.
