Job Description :


As a Scala Niche Developer (Sr. Associate), you will be responsible for :

- Driving Business Value: Delivering on critical business priorities while evolving the platform towards its strategic vision.

- You will closely collaborate with product managers, end users, and business analysts to understand business objectives, key success factors, and translate them into technical solutions.

- Technical Expertise: Partnering with technology teams to design and architect solutions that align with Barclays Architecture, Data and Security standards.

- You will leverage your knowledge of best-of-breed technologies to build robust and secure systems.

- Developing Scalable Solutions: Developing and testing resilient, scalable, and reusable services and APIs/data pipelines utilizing the latest Scala frameworks and libraries.

- You will ensure code adheres to high development standards and best practices.

- DevOps Adoption: Implementing automated build, test and deployment pipelines utilizing cutting-edge DevOps tools to streamline the software development lifecycle.

- Documentation Champion: Creating and proactively managing relevant application documentation to ensure knowledge transfer and maintain system clarity.

- Agile Methodology: Participating actively in Scrum ceremonies and conducting engaging sprint demos for stakeholders.

- Platform Stability Leader: Leading and proactively managing the health and stability of the platform by reviewing technical debt, operational risks, and vulnerabilities.

- You will play a key role in identifying and mitigating potential issues.

Qualifications :

- Proven experience as a Scala developer with a strong understanding of functional programming principles

- Experience designing, developing, and testing scalable and maintainable Scala applications

- Familiarity with best practices for building APIs and data pipelines

- Experience working in an Agile development environment (Scrum)

- Experience with DevOps tools and practices
