Senior Principal Software Development Engineer

Position OverviewAs a Sr. Principal Software Development Engineer, you will be a key technical leader responsible for defining the long-term architecture and engineering strategy of our enterprise-grade cybersecurity platform. You will drive the design and evolution of highly scalable, reliable, and secure systems, influencing not just components but the platform as a whole. Beyond hands-on technical contributions, you will mentor senior engineers and Principal SDEs, fostering excellence across the organization. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional leaders in QA, UI, DevOps, Data Science, Ops, Product, and beyond, ensuring technology decisions align with business strategy and customer needs. As a thought leader, you will shape innovation and help set the direction for our next phase of growth.Responsibilities Define and drive the technical vision and strategyfor core areas of our enterprise-level cybersecurity platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and long-term adaptability. Architect and oversee end-to-end systems, guiding the design of high-performance, distributed, and secure solutions that address both current and future business needs. Lead the design and governance oflarge-scale data pipelines, ETL processes, and data platforms, ensuring they support advanced analytics, operational requirements, and product innovation. Championdata quality, performance, and reliability initiativesacross the organization, influencing engineering best practices and company-wide standards. Serve as atechnical advisor and mentorto Principal Engineers and senior team members, raising the overall bar for engineering excellence. Anticipate and addresssystemic bottlenecks, architectural risks, and scaling challenges, proposing innovative solutions that balance performance, cost, and maintainability. Collaborate closely withproduct, security, and leadership teamsto align technology direction with business strategy and customer needs. Play a key role inshaping the engineering culture, fostering innovation, technical rigor, and a bias for high-quality delivery. Conductdeep technical reviews and design critiques, providing guidance that strengthens architectural decisions and accelerates execution. Partner with DevOps and Cloud Engineering to influenceinfrastructure strategy, automation, and operational resilienceat scale. Driveevaluation and adoption of emerging technologies, ensuring our cybersecurity platform remains ahead of industry trends. Act as athought leader, representing engineering both internally and externally (e.g., technical talks, patents, open-source contributions, industry events).Requirements 18+ yearsof progressive, hands-on experience in designing, developing, and scaling enterprise-grade software systems. Demonstrated leadership inarchitecting and driving complex, large-scale distributed systemsfrom concept to production. Proven track record oftechnical innovation, influencing product direction, and setting long-term engineering strategy. Extensive experience withbackend engineering at scale, including data-intensive systems, real-time processing, and large-scale pipelines. A proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale data solutions and data pipelines is a definite plus. Excellent problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, and attention to detail. Deep expertisein at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go), with the ability to evaluate and adopt new technologies when appropriate. Strong background incloud-native architectures, multi-cloud deployments, and container orchestration (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker). Expertise in designinghighly reliable, secure, and performant APIsand system integrations. Solid knowledge ofdata platforms, including ELK stack, NoSQL, and scalable storage systems, with experience optimizing for performance, scale, and cost. Recognized forsolving highly complex technical challenges, debugging systemic issues, and mentoring senior engineers to elevate technical excellence across the org. Strong ability tocommunicate technical strategy, collaborate with cross-functional leaders, and influence decision-making at the organizational level. Comfortable operating infast-paced startup environments, balancing immediate priorities with long-term platform scalability. Master’s or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
