Job Overview :

A product-based company is hiring a Staff Platform Engineer to join their innovative and growing team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in coding, feature development, and solving complex engineering challenges while building scalable, efficient, and reliable cloud platforms. As a Staff Platform Engineer, you will have the chance to influence technical direction at the organizational level, drive technical excellence, and guide the evolution of the platform to support the company's growth and innovation goals.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Hands-on Development : Contribute to coding, designing, and implementing features to ensure high-quality platform components for the product.
  • Technical Leadership : Lead large-scale architectural and engineering initiatives while contributing directly to the codebase to evolve the platform.
  • Platform Design & Evolution : Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient platform modules that align with business and technical objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to align platform strategies with the company's broader goals.
  • Mentorship : Provide mentorship and guidance to senior and lead engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, growth, and continuous learning.
  • Innovative Solutions : Explore and implement emerging technologies or methodologies to enhance platform capabilities and improve overall efficiency.
  • Reliability & Performance : Take ownership of platform reliability, scalability, and performance, addressing systemic issues and providing long-term solutions.
  • Strategic Impact : Lead initiatives that have a significant organizational impact, such as improving engineering processes, reducing technical debt, and developing reusable frameworks.
Requirements :
  • Experience : At least 8 years of experience in platform or software engineering, with proven expertise in designing and implementing large-scale, distributed systems.
  • Hands-on Expertise : Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and deploy complex features while maintaining high standards of code quality.
  • Technical Mastery : Strong proficiency in Python programming and extensive experience with serverless architectures, microservices, and event-driven systems.
  • Cloud Expertise : Proven experience building and deploying high-quality SaaS platforms/applications on AWS, with deep knowledge of AWS services such as Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
  • Problem-Solving : Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimize complex systems for performance and scalability.
  • Leadership Without Authority : Ability to influence engineering decisions and teams without direct management responsibility.
  • Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have :
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Developer).
  • Experience with the AWS Boto3 SDK for Python.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Exposure to other cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud solutions.
