Designation: Manager (Instrumentation and Automation Department)

Location: Pune

Education Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Controls/Instrumentation Engineering from reputed institutions.
  • 8-10 years of experience in process automation of Pharma, Biotech, Chemicals, API, or Specialty Chemicals.

Professional Skills / Knowledge Required:

  • Expertise in handling multiple product platforms and multitasking.
  • Proven leadership skills for managing a team of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Software Engineers across multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong team player with the ability to communicate effectively within a technical team environment.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • In-depth knowledge of various DCS & PLC systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of instrument selection as per process requirements.
  • Solid knowledge of electrical panels and electrical engineering.
  • Familiarity with the project execution cycle.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse groups across organizational levels.
  • Adaptability to respond to dynamic demands.
  • Practical approach to work and work environments.

Tooling Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Skilled in using project management tools such as MS Projects.

Tasks/Area of Responsibility:

  • Review client specifications and identify special requirements beyond standard engineering needs for Instrumentation/Control systems.
  • Evaluate PLC hardware and software quotations.
  • Define design requirements in line with contract specifications and desired performance outcomes.
  • Basic control system and field instrument design engineering, including:

-Instrument Index Sheet.

-IO Assignment.

-Function Diagram.

-Heat & Load Calculations.

-Instrument Datasheets.

-Instrument Hookup.

-Cable Tray Layout.

-Cable Schedule.

-PLC/DCS System Architecture.

  • Collaborate with assembly personnel to optimize design for manufacturing.
  • Ensure quality and specification compliance of project deliverables.
  • Conduct or participate in FAT, SAT, and commissioning of control systems and field instruments.
  • Select field instruments based on process data (e.g., pressure, level, flow transmitters).
  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities in processes and standards.
  • Manage end-to-end project closeouts, providing commissioning support on-site or remotely.
  • Resolve customer issues during installation and commissioning phases.
  • Expertise in selecting instruments based on process data and P&ID, including:

-Control valves.

-Actuated valves.

-DP flow and level transmitters.

-Temperature transmitters.

-All types of flow transmitters.
