Liferay Developer

Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Liferay Developer to join our enterprise portal development team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Liferay DXP, strong backend development skills in Java, and a solid understanding of front-end technologies. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and secure portal solutions that support business operations and enhance user engagement.

Key Responsibilities :

Development & Customization :

- Design and implement custom portlets, hooks, ext plugins, and themes using Liferay DXP.

- Develop reusable components and templates to streamline portal development.

- Customize workflows, permissions, and content structures within Liferay.

Integration & Architecture :

- Integrate Liferay with external systems (ERP, CRM, SSO, etc.) using RESTful/SOAP APIs.

- Collaborate with architects to define scalable and maintainable portal architecture.

- Ensure secure data exchange and compliance with enterprise security standards.

Testing & Optimization :

- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and performance tuning.

- Optimize portal performance, caching strategies, and load balancing.

- Monitor and resolve production issues and bugs.

Collaboration & Leadership :

- Work closely with UI/UX designers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams.

- Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).

- Mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge sharing sessions.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Technical Skills :

- Strong proficiency in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate.

- Hands-on experience with Liferay DXP 7.x, including:

- Portlet development (MVC, JSF, Vaadin)

- Theme and layout customization

- Service Builder and OSGi modules

- Front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, React/Angular (optional).

- Database: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle.

- Tools: Git, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, JIRA.

Educational Qualifications :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- Liferay Developer Certification is a strong plus.

Preferred Experience :

- Experience in deploying Liferay on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

- Familiarity with headless CMS and decoupled architecture.

- Exposure to microservices and containerization (Kubernetes).

- Experience working in client-facing roles or consulting environments.
