Role Overview:

As a Business Analyst at Third Wave Coffee, you will be responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights that shape business strategy and decision-making. You will lead the design and delivery of advanced dashboards, data models, and reporting solutions—primarily leveraging Power BI—to provide visibility into key performance metrics across the organization. Working closely with business leaders, product teams, and data stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in enabling data-driven decision-making and fostering a culture of analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

- Partner with business stakeholders to define reporting needs, translate requirements into BI solutions, and deliver insights that drive strategic initiatives

- Design, build, and maintain robust Power BI dashboards and reports with strong emphasis on usability, storytelling, and performance optimization

- Develop and maintain data models, DAX calculations, and measures to support scalable self-service analytics

- Perform deep-dive analysis on business performance, customer behaviour, and operational trends to identify growth opportunities and risks

- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and governance of BI reports by implementing best practices in data validation and quality assurance

- Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure efficient data pipelines and reliable access to clean, well-structured data sources

- Mentor junior analysts, review their work, and guide them on best practices in BI development and analytics

- Stay updated on BI tools, features, and industry trends, recommending enhancements to improve reporting capabilities and data democratization

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or master's degree in data science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

- 3+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analysis, or a related field

- Strong expertise in Power BI development (DAX, Power Query, data modelling, performance tuning, row-level security)

- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis

- Solid understanding of data warehousing, ETL concepts, and relational database systems

- Demonstrated ability to translate complex datasets into clear, actionable business insights

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions at senior levels

- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Exposure to other BI and visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik)

- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP for BI and analytics solutions

- Experience with advanced analytics (statistical modelling, forecasting, or machine learning concepts) is a plus

- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate
