With offices in multiple countries and over 500 professionals, the Group achieved a revenue of approximately USD 1.0 billion in FY 2025.Job Title: Head – Mechanical (Integrated Steel Plant Project) Location:Project Site, Chandrapur, Maharashtra, India Reporting to:Chief Executive Officer Qualification :Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Industry: Integrated Greenfield Steel Plant (Pellet, Gasification, DRI, SMS, Rolling Mill)About the Role To lead and oversee all mechanical engineering, design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities across the integrated steel plant, ensuring adherence to project timelines, technical specifications, safety, and cost objectives. The role encompasses end-to-end mechanical scope from concept through commissioning and handover to operations. Key ResponsibilitiesProject Engineering & Design ·Lead mechanical design reviews for all units — Pellet Plant, Coal Gasification, DRI, Steel Melt Shop (EAF + LRF + VD), and Rolling Mill. ·Ensure alignment of equipment specifications with process, utility, and layout requirements. ·Evaluate vendor drawings, P&IDs, GA layouts, and mechanical datasheets. ·Coordinate with process licensors, consultants, and OEMs to validate engineering deliverables.Vendor Management ·Define and approve mechanical equipment specifications, tender documents, and BOQs. ·Participate in techno-commercial evaluations and vendor finalisation for critical mechanical packages (e.g., compressors, blowers, pumps, cooling towers, conveyors, valves, and pressure vessels). ·Oversee vendor manufacturing, inspection, and FAT activities.Construction & Erection Supervision ·Plan and control mechanical erection works across all units. ·Monitor contractor performance, quality control, and adherence to drawings and welding procedures. ·Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Safety teams for smooth integration. ·Ensure compliance with IBR, ASME, IS, and statutory codes.Commissioning & Handover ·Lead pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of all mechanical systems. ·Troubleshoot issues during equipment startup and ensure system reliability. ·Prepare detailed mechanical dossiers and documentation for O&M transition.Leadership & Coordination ·Build and lead a multidisciplinary mechanical team (engineers, supervisors, inspectors). ·Develop mechanical maintenance philosophies and spares strategy for steady-state operation. ·Coordinate with environment and safety departments to ensure zero accident and compliance.Experience ·Minimum 20–25 years of experience in large-scale integrated steel plants or heavy industrial projects, including at least one full-cycle execution (EPC to commissioning). ·Proven experience with EAF/DRI/rolling mill mechanical systems, gas-based process plants, and utilities (cooling water, compressed air, gas distribution, etc.). ·Strong understanding of piping, rotating equipment, heavy structural fabrication, and pressure part systems. ·Exposure to greenfield project execution with international licensors or engineering consultants preferred.Key Skills & Competencies ·Expertise in mechanical design codes (ASME, API, IS standards). ·Strong project planning and contract management capability. ·Leadership and cross-functional coordination skills. ·Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability standards.Interested candidates can send their resume to “career_dubai@greta.in and sanjay.pandey@greta.in ” with the subject line: Application for “Head- Mechanical ”
