Principal Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned and hands-on Principal Engineer with 7-10+ years of experience in leading platform engineering or development within SaaS environments, particularly in regulated industries such as Healthcare. The ideal candidate will drive the technical vision, architecture, and engineering strategy for our Agentic AI platform, ensuring it meets both current and future business needs while adhering to industry standards and regulatory :

Technical Leadership & Strategy :

- Define and drive the overall technical roadmap and architecture for the Agentic AI platform.

- Lead the engineering team in the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and robust SaaS solutions on various cloud platforms.

- Serve as the Go-To leader for any architecture and design decisions related to the platform or solutions.

- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders around the platform capabilities, including participation in deep

dive discussions, technical overviews.

- Possess extensive knowledge of various lifecycle methodologies and best practices, including ModelOps, DataOps, and LLMOps.

Platform Development & Integration :

- Oversee the integration of advanced AI/ML, Generative AI-based models with core platform functionalities.

- Ensure seamless integration with healthcare information systems and adherence to data interoperability standards such as FHIR,

HL7

- Working knowledge of various current and emerging technologies and various stacks and frameworks such as Kubernetes, Istio, Zero-Trust Security, and Web.

- Deep understanding of how LLMs work, along with patterns such as RAG, Agentic AI, and Prompt Engineering.

- Working knowledge of cloud vendor capabilities on platforms like Azure, GCP, and AWS.

Regulatory Compliance & Security :

- Collaborate with regulatory and compliance teams to ensure that the platform meets all relevant healthcare regulations (e. g., HIPAA, FDA).

- Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive healthcare data.

Team Leadership & Mentorship :

- Mentor and manage a diverse team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

- Establish best practices in software development, agile methodologies, DevOps, and Collaboration :

- Work closely with product management, data science, UX/UI, and operations teams to align technical capabilities with business objectives.

- Engage with external partners and vendors to evaluate new technologies and optimize platform performance.

- Participate in client-facing discussions to help align and facilitate technical discussions, as needed.

Operational Excellence :

- Manage and oversee system performance, scalability, and reliability while maintaining cost-effective operations.

- Lead the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies to maintain a competitive advantage.

- Ensure observability, reliability, scalability, and security best practices are baked and built into the platform components using

available open source technologies and frameworks.

- Lead and conduct thorough technical reviews throughout the product life cycle to ensure the product is released with no major quality issues or defects

Responsibilities :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).

- 7-10+ years of progressive experience in platform engineering or software development leadership, particularly within SaaS environments and regulated industries (healthcare experience is highly preferred).

Technical Expertise :

- Proven experience with cloud computing platforms, containerization, microservices architecture, batch and async architectures and modern software development practices.

- Strong background in AI/ML, LLM, and Generative AI technologies integration, and working knowledge of agentic systems is a plus.

- In-depth understanding of security, privacy, and compliance standards in healthcare.

- Proven track record of achieving high performance and low cost in managing large AI/ML workloads and tasks.

Leadership & Communication :

- Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and mentor technical teams.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

- Help collaborate with RFP proposals, security questionnaires, and customer technical requests, when necessary.

Project & Process Management :

- Experience in managing large-scale, complex projects with a track record of delivering high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions.

- Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

- Experience in handling production deployments at large-scale enterprises is a plus.
