Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Snowflake Developer with strong Python expertise and experience in orchestrating Snowflake tasks and migrating from SAS to Snowflake. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience in data engineering and development, with at least 5 years focused on Snowflake and Python. This role involves end-to-end migration of SAS processes to Snowflake, optimizing performance, and integrating with modern cloud-based solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the migration of complex SAS processes to Snowflake, ensuring data integrity, performance optimization, and scalability.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize Snowflake data warehouses, including data ingestion, transformation, and storage strategies.
  • Write efficient and scalable Python scripts for data transformations, orchestration, and automation.
  • Design, schedule, and manage orchestration workflows using Snowflake Tasks, Streams, and other native Snowflake features.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and manage end-to-end data pipelines.
  • Perform performance tuning and query optimization on Snowflake to handle large datasets.
  • Participate in the design and execution of ETL/ELT workflows and data pipelines using Python, Snowflake SQL, and Snowpark.
  • Ensure seamless data migration while addressing SAS-specific challenges, like poorly performing code, undocumented processes, and missing subject matter expertise.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to data processing, storage, and integration during migration.
  • Contribute to documentation, testing, and quality assurance of data migration efforts.


Key Requirements:

  • Overall Experience: 7+ years in data engineering, data warehousing, or related roles.
  • Relevant Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake and Python.
  • Strong experience in SAS to Snowflake migration projects.
  • Expertise in Snowflake architecture, SnowSQL, Snowpark, performance tuning, and Snowflake Tasks orchestration.
  • Proficient in Python for developing scripts and automation in data processing workflows.
  • Experience with data migration, ETL/ELT development, and integration of cloud-based solutions.
  • Understanding of SAS processes, code structure, and strategies for optimization and migration.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-team interaction.
