The ideal candidate should have deep technical expertise in Golang or Python and a proven ability to build and scale large backend systems. This role offers the opportunity to own end-to-end backend architecture, contribute to product innovation, and mentor junior engineers within a fast-paced, impact-driven environment.Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems using Golang or Python. - Build scalable, secure, and high-performing APIs and microservices for core Unacademy products. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams — Product, Frontend, DevOps — to deliver seamless experiences. - Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance optimization. - Conduct code reviews and enforce engineering best practices across the team. - Troubleshoot production issues, identify bottlenecks, and drive effective solutions. - Take ownership of architecture decisions and drive continuous improvement in system design. - Mentor and guide junior engineers to improve technical depth and delivery quality.Required Skills & Qualifications- 4–7 years of professional experience in backend development. - Proficiency in Golang or Python (mandatory) — with experience in building large-scale applications. - Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems. - Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other relational/NoSQL databases. - Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools. - Excellent understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles. - Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.Preferred Skills- Experience with AWS, GCP, or other cloud platforms. - Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other message brokers. - Exposure to fast-paced product or startup environments.Why Join Unacademy- Work on products that impact millions of learners across India. - Collaborate with top engineering talent in a dynamic and innovative environment. - Ownership, autonomy, and opportunities for leadership growth. - A mission-driven culture that values learning, impact, and excellence.
