Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to join our team as a Team Lead.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in COBOL, Mainframe technologies, Changeman, JCL, REXX tooling/coding, and DFSORT control cards.

The primary responsibilities of this role include guiding and leading the team in resolving technical issues, leading automation initiatives, and devising migration strategies, particularly for Sort utility.

Additionally, the candidate should possess excellent coordination and communication skills to address technical issues and queries effectively.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and guide the team in resolving technical issues related to Mainframe development.

- Lead automation initiatives to streamline development processes and improve efficiency.

- Develop migration strategies, particularly for Sort utility, and oversee their implementation.

- Take complete ownership of tracking project progress and ensuring timely delivery.

- Coordinate with team members and stakeholders to address technical issues and queries promptly.

- Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative work environment.

- Stay updated with the latest developments in Mainframe technologies and tools.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Mainframe applications.

- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

- Provide technical guidance and support during all phases of the software development lifecycle.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in Mainframe development.-

- Proficiency in COBOL programming language.

- Strong understanding of Mainframe technologies and architecture.

- Hands-on experience with Changeman for version control and code management.


- Proficient in JCL (Job Control Language) for batch processing on Mainframe systems.

- Experience with REXX tooling and coding for automation tasks.

- Familiarity with DFSORT control cards for data manipulation and sorting.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Certification in Mainframe development or related field.

- Experience with other Mainframe tools and utilities.

- Knowledge of Agile methodologies for software development.

- Experience in leading migration projects on Mainframe platforms.
