Job Description: Apigee Architect

Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Apigee Architect to join our team. As an Apigee Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing API solutions using the Apigee platform. You will be responsible for creating robust, scalable, and secure API architectures that meet the business requirements and align with the organization's technology strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Architecture Design: Design scalable, reliable, and high-performance API architectures using the Apigee platform to meet business needs and technical requirements.
  2. API Development: Lead the development and implementation of APIs leveraging Apigee Edge platform, ensuring adherence to best practices, standards, and security protocols.
  3. Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate APIs with various backend systems, databases, and third-party services.
  4. Performance Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations to enhance API performance, reliability, and scalability.
  5. Security: Ensure the security of APIs by implementing robust authentication, authorization, and encryption mechanisms, adhering to industry standards and compliance requirements.
  6. Monitoring and Analytics: Set up monitoring and analytics solutions to track API usage, performance metrics, and health status, and utilize insights to drive continuous improvement.
  7. Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation including API specifications, architecture diagrams, and deployment guides for internal and external stakeholders.
  8. Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to development teams on Apigee best practices, tools, and methodologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Apigee Architect or similar role, with a strong background in API design and development.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Apigee Edge platform, including API proxy configuration, policies, and analytics.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Experience with API security standards and protocols (OAuth, JWT, SSL/TLS).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and drive resolution.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture principles and design patterns.
