Job Responsibilities

A. Core Job Competencies

  • Knowledge of basic Project management principles (Jira, Waterfall)

B. Core Domain Competencies

  • Understanding of chemical manufacturing processes and operations
  • Knowledge of industrial automation systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA)
  • Familiarity with quality control and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including networks, servers, storage, and security protocols.
  • Experience with manufacturing data analysis and reporting
  • Awareness of industry best practices and standards (e.g., Gartner)
  • Experience in dealing with various service providers.

C. Role-specific Competencies.

1) Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES):

Understanding of MES architecture and functionality

Experience with MES software implementation and integration

Knowledge of MES data management and reporting

Familiarity with MES workflows (e.g., batch/recipe management, quality management)

2) Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT):

Understanding of IIoT concepts and applications in manufacturing

Experience with IIoT device connectivity and data acquisition

Knowledge of IIoT data analytics and visualization tools

Familiarity with IIoT security and privacy considerations

3) Operational Technology (OT) Cyber Security:

Understanding of OT cyber security risks and threats

Knowledge of OT cyber security standards and frameworks (e.g., ISA/IEC 62443)

4) Additional Responsibilities:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Operations, Maintenance) on manufacturing IT projects.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing IT systems.

Develop and maintain documentation for manufacturing IT systems and processes.

Continuously learn and stay up to date with emerging manufacturing IT technologies and trends.

Conduct training sessions for staff to familiarize them with new processes, systems, and tools.

Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure successful adoption of digital solutions.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and adjust as needed.

D. Required Experience & Educational Qualifications.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication/Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics & Instrumentation or a related field.

Relevant industry certifications (e.g., GAMP, ISA/IEC 62443) are a plus.

  • 8-12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience of one or two Major project completion in Digital Transformation domain.
