About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Looker Developer with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our team. As a Senior Looker Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing advanced Looker-based analytics and reporting solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality insights that drive data-driven decisions.


Key Responsibilities:


Design and Develop Looker Solutions:

  • Build and optimize LookML models, dashboards, and reports to meet business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain complex Looker data models using LookML, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Implement best practices in data visualization and user interface design for Looker dashboards.

Data Integration and Management:

  • Work with various data sources, including GCP BigQuery, to integrate data into Looker.
  • Design and implement ETL/ELT processes to ensure efficient data flow and transformation.
  • Optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability within Looker.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and other team members.
  • Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and other team members to ensure data consistency and accuracy.

Performance Tuning and Optimization:

  • Monitor and optimize Looker performance, including dashboard loading times and query execution.
  • Identify and resolve any performance bottlenecks in LookML models and dashboards.
  • Continuously improve and refine existing Looker solutions for efficiency.

GCP Integration:

  • Leverage GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Storage to enhance Looker’s capabilities.
  • Ensure seamless integration of Looker with GCP-based data warehousing and analytics solutions.

Documentation and Training:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Looker models, dashboards, and processes.
  • Provide training and support to end-users to maximize the effectiveness of Looker solutions.


Qualifications:


Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in Looker development and analytics.
  • Strong hands-on experience with LookML, including modeling, dashboards, and custom visualization.
  • Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly BigQuery.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in SQL with a deep understanding of data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data integration.
  • Familiarity with other GCP services such as Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Knowledge of Python or other programming languages for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Experience in the finance, healthcare, or e-commerce sectors.
