Description: We are seeking a Vice President, Software Engineering to join our Pune team, focusing on building and operating our Next Generation File Transfer platform.- This platform supports secure, seamless data transfers across Mastercards global infrastructureincluding Mastercards next-generation switchand is designed for deployment on both private and public cloud environments.- This is an exciting senior engineering leadership role within a globally distributed team, passionate about delivering resilient, scalable solutions to our This Role, You Will:- Drive collaboration across engineering, product management, enterprise functions, and regional business teams.- Define the technical strategy, architecture, design, and execution for delivering an end-to-end Treasury Management solution that scales with business needs.- Lead engineering teams with a strong focus on nonfunctional requirementsincluding reliability, performance, scalability, and security.- Champion an operational mindset, ensuring systems are robust, observable, and maintainable.- Drive change management initiatives across engineering and cross-functional teams, balancing innovation with risk mitigation.- Establish and enforce engineering standards, governance models, and operational excellence practices.- Mentor and develop engineering leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, resilience, and continuous improvement.- Manage relationships with external vendors and technology partners, ensuring alignment with Mastercards engineering standards, delivery timelines, and strategic goals.Technology Expertise:- Deep experience with Java and event-driven architectures.- Proven track record in designing and operating microservices-based systems.- Hands-on familiarity with PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry) and AWS cloud platforms.- Strong understanding of platform observability, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.Ideal Candidate Profile:- Proven experience leading large-scale engineering organizations with a focus on platform operations.- Deep understanding of nonfunctional engineering disciplines and how they impact business outcomes.- Demonstrated success in change management, especially in environments undergoing transformation or consolidation.- Strong communicator and systems thinker, able to influence across technical and non-technical audiences.- Experience managing vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, performance oversight, and integration with internal teams.- We value thoughtful execution over rapid iteration, and platform integrity over short-term gains.Corporate Security Responsibility:- All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must:- Abide by Mastercards security policies and practices;- Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed;- Report any suspected information security violation or breach, and- Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercards guidelines (ref:iimjobs.com)
