Job Title : Senior Backend Engineer (Golang)Experience : 6+ YearsLocation : Bengaluru, KarnatakaEmployment Type : Full-timeJoining : ImmediateAbout the Role :We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Golang and proven leadership experience in backend system design and development. The ideal candidate will lead a team of developers, design scalable backend architectures, and ensure system reliability, security, and high performance. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong backend fundamentals and experience in containerized microservice environments.Key Responsibilities :- Lead a team of backend developers in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services using Golang.- Architect and implement microservices and RESTful APIs for high-availability systems.- Manage and optimize databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL) for performance, reliability, and scalability.- Work extensively on Linux-based environments, ensuring smooth deployment and operations.- Develop, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment.- Ensure backend systems are optimized for performance, security, and scalability.- Set coding standards, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend, DevOps, and QA to ensure seamless integration and delivery.- Monitor system health, troubleshoot production issues, and implement solutions proactively.Required Skills and Experience :- 6+ years of experience in backend development with strong proficiency in Golang.- Proven team leadership experience in software development.- Hands-on experience working with Linux environments.- Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.- Proficiency in PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL databases.- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.).- Strong understanding of system performance tuning, security, and application monitoring.- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Good to Have Skills :- Experience with container technologies beyond Docker (e.g., Podman, CRI-O).- Exposure to backend services architecture in large-scale distributed systems.- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).- Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).Additional Information :- This role requires a combination of technical depth and leadership capability.- The candidate will be responsible for ensuring code quality, scalability, and operational excellence.- Excellent opportunity to work on modern backend technologies and containerized deployments in a collaborative and agile environment (ref:hirist.tech)
