About the Company MIT College of Management (MITCOM) is seeking a qualified and experienced academic for the position of Assistant Professor to deliver MBA courses. The primary objective is to deliver high-quality education and conduct research in the respective specialization, strictly adhering to the AICTE norms for management faculty.About the Role The recruitment is open across the following MBA specializations: International Business, Business Analytics, Statistics / Mathematics (for foundational quantitative courses), FinTech, Port & Shipping Management, Logistics & Operations.Responsibilities Teaching and Learning Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for MBA students (minimum 16 hours of direct teaching per week, as per norms). Develop and update course curriculum, teaching methodologies, and instructional materials to reflect the latest industry trends and academic advancements in the assigned specialization. Conduct continuous student assessment through assignments, quizzes, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback. Mentor and advise students on academic progress, career planning, and professional development.Research, Consultancy, and Publications Actively engage in research and publication activities, aiming for high-impact journals (SCI/UGC/AICTE approved). Supervise student dissertations, research projects, and field studies. Write proposals for research and consultancy projects to seek external funding and establish industry collaboration. Present research papers at national and international conferences.Institutional and Industry Engagement Participate in departmental and University activities, including admissions, counseling, examinations, and organizing academic/cultural events. Facilitate industry-institute interface, including organizing guest lectures, industrial visits, and ensuring student placements/internships in collaboration with the Corporate Relations & Placements Cell. Contribute to administrative and leadership roles as required by the Head of School/University management. Adhere to the University's philosophy of value-based education and holistic development.Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University. Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) / Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)/ C.A. / ICWA / M.Com. with First Class or equivalent (minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a relevant/allied subject. Note: Candidates with an M.Tech. degree may be considered for Information Management related specialization (e.g., Business Analytics/FinTech). Minimum two (2) years of professional experience after acquiring the Master’s degree. This experience can be in teaching, industry, research, or a profession. Teaching experience is preferable.Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. degreein the concerned/allied/relevant management discipline. Cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by the UGC (like SLET/SET). (Note: Candidates with a Ph.D. degree are generally exempt from NET/SET as per UGC norms, which are often followed by AICTE.)Required Skills Core Pedagogical and Technical Skills Subject Matter Expertise: Profound knowledge and proven competence in the specific management specialization (International Business, Business Analytics, FinTech, etc.). Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for delivering lectures, writing research papers, and interacting with students and colleagues. Teaching & Presentation Skills: Ability to design and deliver engaging and effective lectures using modern teaching aids, technology, and case-study methodology. Quantitative Aptitude: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly for specializations like Statistics/Mathematics, Business Analytics, and FinTech. Technology Proficiency: Expertise in relevant software, tools, and platforms specific to the specialization (e.g., Python/R for Analytics, Trading Platforms for FinTech, ERP/Supply Chain Software for Logistics). Research Methodology: Sound knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods and statistical packages (e.g., SPSS, R, Python, NVivo).Professional and Personal Attributes Student-Centric Approach: A genuine interest in the learning and development of students, with a commitment to mentoring and guidance.
