As an OpenStack Administrator, you will be responsible for administration, configuration, deploying, installation and maintaining OpenStack infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and reliable solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of OpenStack components, networking, storage, and virtualization technologies.
Key Responsibilities :
- Deploy, configure, and manage OpenStack environments using Kolla-Ansible and TripleO.
- Design, deploy, and maintain Ceph storage clusters, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Manage block storage (Cinder), file storage (Manila), and object storage (such as Ceph RGW/S3, Swift, or equivalent).
- Maintain and optimize OpenStack control plane and compute resources for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Manage and troubleshoot containerized applications using Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and playbooks using Ansible for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
- Integrate OpenStack environments with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud-native solutions.
- Participate in CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure changes and application deployments.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Support capacity planning, incident management, and root cause analysis for infrastructure- related issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- 7-10 years of hands-on OpenStack experience, including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Proven experience deploying OpenStack using Kolla-Ansible (container-based deployment) and TripleO (bare-metal deployment).
- Relevant 3-5 years of experience with containerization technologies, primarily Docker.
- Relevant 2-3 years of experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift administration.
- Proficiency in Ceph storage setup and management for block, file, and object storage (S3, Swift, or equivalent).
- Strong proficiency in Ansible for automation and configuration management.
- Solid understanding of Linux systems administration (preferably RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
- Knowledge of networking concepts relevant to cloud environments (VLANs, VXLANs, routing, firewalls, load balancing).
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- RHCE certified.
Good-to-Have Skills :
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools : Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
- Understanding of cloud security best practices.
Education :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
