OpenStack Administrator

As an OpenStack Administrator, you will be responsible for administration, configuration, deploying, installation and maintaining OpenStack infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and reliable solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of OpenStack components, networking, storage, and virtualization technologies.Key Responsibilities :- Deploy, configure, and manage OpenStack environments using Kolla-Ansible and TripleO.- Design, deploy, and maintain Ceph storage clusters, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.- Manage block storage (Cinder), file storage (Manila), and object storage (such as Ceph RGW/S3, Swift, or equivalent).- Maintain and optimize OpenStack control plane and compute resources for performance, scalability, and reliability.- Manage and troubleshoot containerized applications using Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.- Develop and maintain automation scripts and playbooks using Ansible for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.- Integrate OpenStack environments with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud-native solutions.- Participate in CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure changes and application deployments.- Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure designs, configurations, and operational procedures.- Support capacity planning, incident management, and root cause analysis for infrastructure- related issues.Required Skills & Qualifications :- 7-10 years of hands-on OpenStack experience, including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.- Proven experience deploying OpenStack using Kolla-Ansible (container-based deployment) and TripleO (bare-metal deployment).- Relevant 3-5 years of experience with containerization technologies, primarily Docker.- Relevant 2-3 years of experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift administration.- Proficiency in Ceph storage setup and management for block, file, and object storage (S3, Swift, or equivalent).- Strong proficiency in Ansible for automation and configuration management.- Solid understanding of Linux systems administration (preferably RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).- Knowledge of networking concepts relevant to cloud environments (VLANs, VXLANs, routing, firewalls, load balancing).- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.- RHCE certified.Good-to-Have Skills :- Experience with monitoring and observability tools : Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana.- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python and Bash.- Understanding of cloud security best practices.Education :- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience (ref:hirist.tech)
