Position Summary:
The Accountant with HR Expertise will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards while also supporting HR functions such as payroll administration, benefits management, and employee record-keeping. This dual-role position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in both accounting and human resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Duties:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings and prepare related reports.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
Collaborate with external auditors during audits and prepare necessary documentation.
HR Duties:
Administer payroll processing, including calculating wages, benefits, and deductions, and ensuring timely payments.
Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
Maintain and update employee records, including personal information, employment history, and performance evaluations.
Assist with recruitment and onboarding processes, including job postings, candidate screening, and new hire orientation.
Support HR initiatives, such as employee engagement activities, policy development, and compliance with labor laws.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
CPA certification or equivalent is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with at least 1 year of experience in an HR-related role.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and HR management systems (e.g., ADP, Workday).
Strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll processes, and HR practices.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various departments and stakeholders.
Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial and employee information.
