About the job

We are seeking an experienced Senior Piping Design Engineer with strong expertise in piping, HVAC design, and 3D modeling tools. The ideal candidate will have exposure to Marine/Offshore projects (preferred) and should also be open to opportunities across piping design-related domains.

Responsibilities

  • Lead piping design and layout activities for complex engineering projects.
  • Prepare and review piping GA drawings, isometrics, MTOs, and support drawings.
  • Read, interpret and develop P&IDs; extract line-lists, line classes and process information to drive piping design.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (process, structural, mechanical, instrumentation, etc.).
  • Perform clash detection and resolve design issues using advanced 3D modeling tools.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers.
  • Handle global client interactions professionally, capturing requirements and delivering effective design solutions.
  • Good at understanding client requirements and carrying out design-related tasks based on inputs.
  • Knowledge of all marine classification societies, standards, and rules.
  • Good communication skills; able to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Ensure timely delivery of design packages while adhering to project schedules and quality benchmarks.
  • Proactively identify risks, deviations, and propose solutions to maintain design integrity.
  • Collaborate with procurement and vendors for equipment/piping interface requirements.
  • Support fabrication, installation, and commissioning teams with design clarifications and site queries (as required).
  • Prepare design documentation, reports, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure designs comply with project specifications, client standards, international codes, and classification society rules.
  • Perform 3D modeling, clash detection, and resolve design issues using advanced tools.

Qualifications

  • Diploma, Degree in Engineering, or relevant qualification.
  • Experience: 4–12 years (or relevant senior-level experience) in piping design.
  • Background in Marine/Offshore projects is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in reading and preparing P&IDs and converting P&ID data into piping deliverables (line-lists, isometrics, MTOs).

Software Skills (Must Have)

  • AutoCAD Plant 3D
  • Recap
  • Navisworks Manage
  • Experience with parametric modeling tools
  • AI Tools (any)

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong knowledge of piping design codes and standards.
  • Hands-on expertise in layout planning, routing, and detailing.
  • Strong understanding of P&IDs and their role in driving piping design.
  • Adaptability to work across diverse industries (Marine, Offshore, Oil & Gas, Chemical, Power, Pharma, F&B).
  • Willingness to relocate to Bangalore.
