Headquartered in the heart of Silicon Valley, California, Sycomp has successfully shipped, deployed and managed complex IT projects and supporting assets in more than 150 countries helping its Fortune 500 customers and global partners realize a world without boundaries.Job Title:Datacenter EngineerOverview:We are seeking a highly skilled, self-driven Datacenter Engineer with extensive experience in data center infrastructure deployment, rack integration, and on-site implementation of multi-vendor network and compute systems. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in leading field operations, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring timely, high-quality project delivery.Key Responsibilities:Lead end-to-end rack deployment: rack mounting, bolt-down, structured cabling (fiber & copper), power integration, and labeling. Install, configure, and commission servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless equipment from top OEMs (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Arista, HPE, Dell). Coordinate with customers, OEM engineers, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution and acceptance testing. Perform fiber and copper termination, patching, OTDR testing, and performance validation to guarantee network reliability. Validate LAN/WAN connectivity, failover, redundancy, and security configurations according to design specifications. Conduct advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis during installation and maintenance phases. Maintain accurate as-built documentation, rack elevation diagrams, and test reports for handover and audit purposes. Ensure all field activities comply with safety, ESD, and data center operational standards. Mentor field engineers and technicians to enforce quality standards and installation best practices. Travel to support multi-site deployment projects as required, including extensive travel within a month.Core Competencies:In-depth knowledge of data center architecture, hardware components, and structured cabling systems. Strong expertise in multi-vendor environments and network infrastructure protocols. Excellent leadership, site coordination, and stakeholder communication skills.
