Position Title : Associate- Data Annotation


Job Profile:

Associate play an integral role in maintaining a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for social media users. The primary role of a data annotator is to identify, classify, categorize, annotate, and label predetermined user-submitted online or other content, as well as review project guidelines and specifications to provide the client with the necessary data that will be utilized in machine learning programs that lead to process improvements.


Interested participants must also be prepared to view and evaluate large volumes of content that may sometimes include spam, Not Safe for Work (NSFW) content, disturbing, abusive language, suggested images, photos, videos and other data types.


As the volume and specifications of incoming projects are ever-changing, annotators must be prepared to assist in other roles, as necessary. The position will include ongoing training programs for development within the role.



Responsibilities

• Review and understand content and ensure that project procedures and guidelines are met while upholding a high standard of accuracy and quality

• Participate in regular debriefings and meetings to discuss edge cases and updated guidelines

• Meet/Exceed set performance indicators defined by the client

• Submit edge cases and complex topics for discussion

• Comply with corporate confidentiality policies

• Participate in ongoing training programs for continued development in the role

• Provide recommendations for and remain up to date on workflow process changes, updated guidelines, and any other changes

• Willingness to take on other responsibilities, as needed


Qualifications

  1. Adept at social media language and slang
  2. Advance familiarity with current and developing social media trends and other popular culture references, particularly in the U.S. scene
  3. High levels of social and cultural awareness
  4. Excellent Social Media Intelligence (SocMInt)
  5. Strong emotional intelligence
  6. Highly detail oriented
  7. Ability to make quick, educated decisions
  8. Collaborative attitude in all channels of the workplace
  9. Resilient, adaptable, and flexible nature to meet changing deadlines and client requirements
  10. Dedicated and private home workspace ensuring NSFW, disturbing and/or sensitive content being processed are kept confidential from others in the household especially to minors
  11. Reliable home internet
  12. Bachelor’s Degree is a must.
