Senior Backend EngineerLocation: India - RemoteType: Full-timeCompensation: ₹20-50 LPA basis experienceWe are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer on behalf of a fast-growing SaaS startup that is building intelligent inventory and forecasting systems for modern e-commerce businesses.As one of the first backend hires, you will work closely with the CTO to design, scale, and optimize a high-performance, data-intensive platform already used by hundreds of merchants. This is a hands-on role with significant ownership, technical depth, and product impact.Responsibilities- Architect, design, and implement scalable backend systems and APIs handling millions of data points - Improve reliability, observability, and performance across distributed systems - Collaborate with product and data teams to deliver new features end-to-end - Contribute to infrastructure improvements, CI/CD, and cloud deployments - Adopt AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development and maintain qualityRequirements- 4+ years of professional experience building production-grade software in startups or tech product environments - Strong proficiency in Python (experience with FastAPI preferred) - Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and database performance optimization - Experience with GCP or other major cloud platforms - Pragmatic approach to engineering, balancing speed and scalability - Strong communication skills and comfort working in small, distributed teamsPreferred Qualifications- Experience with ETL/data pipelines (Airflow, Dagster, or Airbyte) - Familiarity with ClickHouse or other analytical databases - Knowledge of event-driven architectures - Background in e-commerce, inventory, or supply chain domains - Experience scaling systems from startup to growth stage - Exposure to AI/ML engineeringTech StackPython, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, QuestDB, ClickHouse, GCP, Docker, Next.jsWhat’s Offered- Competitive compensation package (₹20-50 LPA basis experience) - Opportunity to build and scale core systems from the ground up - Direct collaboration with founding engineers and product leadership - Flexible, remote-first culture with hybrid options in Paris and London
