Experience:

An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers with 12 to 20 years experience.


Key Accountability:

Strategic

Support in execution of various institutional strategies for growth and development.


Operational

Developing strong linkages with academic departments and units and adding value to line departments through:

Assist in faculty & student development and retention by enriching the research environment.

Development & upgrading curriculum.

providing interdisciplinary research training and mentoring for faculties undergraduate and graduate students.

regular communication of research activities and opportunities for

faculty and students’ involvement.


Collaborations & Research

  1. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with the different stakeholders in the organization.
  2. where applicable, developing mutually beneficial linkages with industry to develop partnerships and collaborative research.
  3. Engage training program for faculty members working in similar technological field and one for the industry showcasing the research every year.
  4. transferring knowledge to society through outreach (e.g. collaborative research; seminars; workshops; lectures; websites; publications) and, where applicable, through technology transfer (e.g. collaborative research; contract work; and commercialization of intellectual property);
  5. Conduct market research studies &implement best practices


Academic:

Professor- Responsibilities Core

The Vertical Professor will be research leader, capable of:

  1. Publish 3 to 4 research papers in Scopus indexed journals during a typical project period of two years.
  2. Identify and file at least one idea for Patent within two years.
  3. Managing effectively and efficiently the research program and administrative affairs of the department/ Institution/University.
  4. creating an environment conducive to intellectual and research growth.


External Representation

Represent University/Institution on various professional bodies of repute which is value adding building relationship with the community, government agencies, society at large and with ultimate objective of building brand


Person Specification:


Substantial leadership and management experience

Able to provide effective and inspiring leadership by being actively involved in all programs and services, developing a broad and deep knowledge of all programs

External relations and Corporate engagement

The ability to advocate at the highest levels regionally and nationally on behalf of the University and to influence the decision maker.


Minimum Qualification & Experience:

Ph.d with 12+ years of experience (Teaching + Industry excluding the duration of Ph.D.).

Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
