Job Title : SAP GL and Tax Specialist

Location : Bangalore, Chennai

Position Overview :

We are seeking a knowledgeable SAP GL and Tax Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SAP General Ledger (GL) and tax configurations, along with a strong understanding of financial processes and regulations.


In this role, you will be responsible for configuring and maintaining SAP GL and tax functionalities, supporting financial reporting and compliance requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize financial processes.

Responsibilities :

- Configure and maintain SAP General Ledger (GL) modules, including chart of accounts, posting periods, and document splitting.

- Design and implement tax solutions within SAP ERP system, including tax codes, tax jurisdictions, and tax calculations.

- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

- Support end users in resolving GL and tax-related issues, and provide training as needed.

- Perform regular system updates, patches, and enhancements to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory changes.

- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, adjustments, and reporting.

- Work closely with external auditors to support financial audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

- Stay up-to-date with SAP releases, updates, and best practices related to GL and tax functionalities.

- Participate in cross-functional projects to improve financial processes, systems, and controls.

Requirements :

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

- 3+ years of experience in SAP GL and tax configuration and support.

- Strong understanding of financial processes, accounting principles, and tax regulations.

- Proficiency in SAP ECC or S/4HANA modules related to General Ledger (GL) and Tax.

- Experience with tax calculation and reporting tools, such as Vertex or Avalara, is a plus.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex issues and propose effective solutions.

- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- SAP certification in Financial Accounting (FI) or related modules is preferred.
