Team Lead

The Front-End Development Team Lead plays a critical role in managing and guiding the Front-End Development team to deliver high-quality software solutions. This role is responsible for creating, organizing, and implementing processes to ensure efficient team performance. The Team Lead will design and implement front-end architecture, maintain coding standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet business requirements. As a mentor and leader, the Front-End Team Lead will foster team development while contributing directly to the design and delivery of robust, scalable, and user-friendly front-end solutions for Mercans' cloud-based Payroll, HR, and Recruitment software.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Team Management and Leadership :\n
• Plan and manage the workload of the Front-End Development team, assigning tasks effectively.\n
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and performance evaluations to team members.\n
• Define team goals and monitor progress, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.\n
• Participate in recruitment and onboarding processes for new team members.\n
• Strategically manage team resources, structure, and workflow.\n
• Development and Delivery :\n
• Design and implement engineering, architecture, and coding standards to streamline development processes.\n
• Write clean, maintainable, and secure code for front-end applications.\n
• Contribute to the timely delivery of critical projects while ensuring high-quality output.\n
• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize front-end solutions and infrastructure.\n
• Collaboration and Communication :\n
• Coordinate communication between Front-End and other teams (e.g., Back-End, UX/UI Design) to ensure smooth collaboration.\n
• Collaborate with back-end developers and designers to improve overall system usability.\n
• Conduct code reviews and share best practices within the team.\n
• Work closely with the project team to translate business requirements into feasible technical solutions.\n
• Innovation and Efficiency :\n
• Automate processes to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.\n
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate them into front-end development when appropriate.\n

• Documentation and Quality Assurance :\n
• Ensure adherence to engineering best practices in all solutions.\n
• Develop and maintain professional technical documentation for internal and external use.\n
• Manage the full lifecycle of HRB system interfaces and integrations with client-specific applications.\n

Education and Experience:

• \n
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.\n
• 6+ years of experience in front-end development with TypeScript/JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.\n
• 3+ years of experience in SPA development using frameworks like Vue.js.\n
• Proven track record of leading teams of 4-5 engineers for 2+ years.\n
• Experience with relational (MySQL) and non-relational (MongoDB) databases.\n
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker).\n
• Proficiency in building components based on complex APIs.\n
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab) and monitoring/alerting tools.\n
• Strong SQL skills and knowledge of event-driven architecture and queues.\n
• Proficiency in test-driven development.\n

Nice to Have:

• Proficiency with Kubernetes.\n
• Experience in automating solutions within HR or Finance domains.\n
• Familiarity with OpenShift or similar containerization platforms.\n
