Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled SQL Developer with a strong background in the clinical domain to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and managing SQL databases, supporting clinical data management needs, and ensuring data integrity and compliance. This role requires expertise in SQL development, knowledge of clinical data standards, and the ability to work with large datasets to support clinical research and healthcare operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database solutions for clinical applications.
  • Manage and optimize SQL databases to support clinical data management, ensuring high performance and data accuracy.
  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various clinical systems to consolidate information for analysis and reporting.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and clinical teams to gather requirements and ensure data solutions meet business and regulatory needs.
  • Develop and implement data validation and quality checks to ensure data integrity and compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Generate regular and ad-hoc reports for clinical teams, providing actionable insights for research and operational decision-making.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient system performance.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for database design, procedures, and protocols, ensuring accuracy and ease of access for team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience as an SQL Developer, with a focus on the clinical or healthcare domain.
  • Proficiency in SQL programming and database management (MS SQL Server, Oracle, or similar).
  • Experience with ETL processes, data warehousing, and working with large clinical datasets.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare data standards (e.g., EHR, HL7) and regulatory compliance (HIPAA).
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and optimize query performance.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and documentation.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience with cloud-based databases or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) for clinical data.
  • Knowledge of clinical research protocols, medical terminology, and industry-specific metrics.
