The Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead DevOps Engineer to join our Drive team. In this critical role, you will be a key driver in shaping our DevOps culture and practices. You will lead the charge in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our core Drive service. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be expected to not only architect solutions but also actively contribute to the code and mentor junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities :

Infrastructure & Operations Leadership :

- Lead the design, implementation, and management of highly scalable, available, and fault-tolerant infrastructure

- Oversee the entire software development lifecycle from a DevOps perspective, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment strategies.

- Ensure the smooth and reliable operation of our production environment, including on-call support for critical issues.

Automation & Tooling :

- Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using tools

- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools

- Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems

System Architecture & Reliability :

- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize application performance, reliability, and security.

- Drive a culture of SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) and continuous improvement, focusing on reducing toil and improving system uptime.

- Lead capacity planning and performance analysis to proactively address potential bottlenecks.

- Act as a subject matter expert for incident response and post-mortem analysis.

Mentorship & Collaboration :

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other DevOps and software engineers on the team.

- Champion best practices for security, scalability, and maintainability.

- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, security, and quality assurance.

Required Qualifications :

Experience :

- 5- 10 years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or a similar role.

- Deep, hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure). AWS experience is highly preferred.

- Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, especially Terraform.

- Proven track record of designing and managing complex CI/CD pipelines. Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions is a must.

- Strong expertise with Docker and Kubernetes.

- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash, Go).

- Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).

- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix system administration and networking fundamentals.

- Experience in a lead or senior role, mentoring junior team members and driving technical initiatives.

Desired Skills (Nice to Have) :

- Experience with building and managing petabyte-scale storage systems.

- Familiarity with distributed file systems or object storage solutions (e.g., Ceph, S3, GCS).

- Experience with security best practices and compliance frameworks.

- Knowledge of database administration (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB).

- Experience with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
