Job Title: Senior DBA Consultant

Work Location: Bangalore/Kolkata

Work Experience: 8 to 12 years


Job Responsibilities


  • Administer, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
  • Write, review, and optimize SQL and PL/SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures for performance.
  • Conduct database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting to resolve bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with application developers to design efficient database solutions and ensure best practices in data modeling.
  • Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Monitor database performance, capacity planning, and proactively identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance, compliance, and security standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs and development teams.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support business-critical applications and projects


Required Skills


  • Strong expertise in PostgreSQL database administration and development.
  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL with hands-on experience in writing complex queries.
  • Proven experience in query tuning and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with database backup, recovery, high availability, and replication techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate with developers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver optimized database solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.


Nice to Have


  • Exposure to Oracle database administration.
  • Experience working in cloud environments (AWS RDS, Azure, GCP) with PostgreSQL.
  • Knowledge of automation scripts (Python, Shell, Ansible) for DBA tasks.
