Position Overview:

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions using GCP and Terraform. You will lead the development of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency. Your expertise in GCP networking will be essential in optimizing our cloud architecture and ensuring robust and secure network configurations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and Develop: Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on GCP using Terraform. Lead the development of reusable Terraform modules.
  • Networking: Configure and manage GCP networking components, including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, VPNs, and interconnects.
  • IaC Leadership: Lead the adoption and implementation of Infrastructure as Code practices across the engineering team.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure solutions.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize the performance, availability, and cost-effectiveness of cloud infrastructure.
  • Security: Implement best practices for cloud security, including network security, IAM, and data protection.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure designs, processes, and procedures.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on GCP and Terraform best practices.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and networking issues on GCP.
  • Automation: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment and management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 11+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on cloud infrastructure.
  • GCP Expertise: Proven experience in designing and managing GCP networking components.
  • Terraform Proficiency: Extensive experience in writing, testing, and deploying Terraform modules.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Strong understanding and practical experience with IaC concepts and tools.
  • Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Go.
  • CI/CD: Experience with CI/CD tools and practices.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team Leadership: Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and mentor a team of engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: GCP Professional Cloud Architect, GCP Professional Network Engineer, or similar.
  • Multi-Cloud: Experience with other cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • Advanced Networking: Knowledge of advanced networking topics such as SD-WAN, load balancing, and CDN integration.
  • Automation Tools: Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible or Chef.
  • Containerization: Experience with Kubernetes and Docker in a cloud environment.
