Responsibilities:

  • Record journal entries to ensure all business transactions are complete and accurate.
  • Issue customer invoices and follow up on collections, monitoring the Accounts Receivable Aging report.
  • Record vendor invoices accurately and in the proper periods.
  • Prepare monthly management reports, as requested.
  • Assist in the review Canadian and Australian financials including: balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to local GAAP accounting guidelines
  • Assist with reviewing of expenses etc. as assigned.
  • Submission of payroll data to local payroll processor (UKG’s ActivPayroll) or local accounting firms for Canada and Australia and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. This includes processing payroll transactions such as new hires, leave of absences, terminations, employee changes, retirement funding, and wage garnishments. Compile and analyze payroll data and ensure accurate transfer of data into global accounting system.
  • Update financial data in the global accounting system to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
  • Prepare weekly cashflow and monthly variance reports.
  • Assist with the annual budget and forecasting processes, insuring customer and vendor activity is accurately presented in accounting system and planning system.
  • Assist with other financial projects within the company.
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, and relationship building skills conducive to driving consensus; able to work well in a cross-functional environment.
  • Ownership – feel a sense of personal accountability/responsibility to drive execution from start to finish.
  • Should be ready to work on additional tasks as per the workload and business priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 4+ years’ experience in a Financial Accounting role
  • Excellent technical accounting skills and a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Minimum 2-year experience working for US, Canadian, or Australian company.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, Salesforce, and Vena is preferred, expertise is a plus.
