Position Title:L2/L3 Networking Protocols Test Engineer – Python Automation Location:Bangalore Experience Required:5+ Years Employment Type:Full-Time Role Overview: We are looking for a skilled and motivatedTest Engineerwith strong expertise inL2/L3 networking protocolsandPython-based automation . The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating complex networking features, automating test cases, and ensuring high-quality software delivery for embedded and networking products. Key Responsibilities: Design and executemanual and automated test casesfor L2/L3 networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, VLAN, OSPF, BGP, MPLS). Develop and maintainPython automation scriptsfor functional, regression, and performance testing. Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues. Performpacket-level analysisusing tools like Wireshark, Scapy, or similar. Validate protocol compliance, interoperability, and scalability under various network conditions. Contribute totest strategy ,test planning , andtest documentation . Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, QA, and system engineering. Participate in continuous integration and DevOps workflows for automated testing. Required Skills: 5+ years of experience inmanual and automated testingof networking products. Strong understanding ofL2/L3 networking protocolsand their real-world applications. Proficiency inPython scriptingfor automation and test framework development. Experience withnetworking test tools(e.g., IXIA, Spirent, Wireshark). Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting. Good analytical and debugging skills. Excellent communication and documentation abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Experience withembedded networking systemsornetwork appliances . Exposure toSDN/NFV ,virtualization , orcloud networkingis a plus. Knowledge ofCI/CD toolslike Jenkins, GitLab CI. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field. Certifications like CCNA/CCNP or equivalent are an advantage.
