Enterprise/Application/Technical/Solution Architect Role
(BANKING DOMAIN)
JOB PURPOSE
The Application Architect role is responsible for designing and managing application
architectures in the bank, including development, runtime, operations and delivering
integrated solutions by applying Agile and ModelDriven methodologies
Work Management
1. Application architect is responsible for creating new applications or improve existing
applications, designing & running software tests, developing prototypes and creating
technical documents and manuals relating to application design, development and
deployment.
2. Application architect will evaluate application technologies and make recommendations for
best fitment for the bank
4. The role is responsible for creating/reviewing Technical Documents for the applications
implemented/updated including application architecture, design steps, integration processes
and testing procedures relating to each application as well as guidelines and standards that
should be adhered to for each application
6. Application Architects must be prepared to offer viable solutions for various systems and
architectures to different types of businesses in the bank- custom or off the shelf
7. Application architects must be able to pull together integration architecture and also work
with integration architects in Integrating applications with existing systems – ensuring a
seamless integration of new and existing systems to eliminate potential problems and
maintain data structure and integrity
8. Architect and design solutions to meet functional and non-functional requirements
9. Perform applications assessments and develop application roadmaps

JOB CONTEXT
• Responsible for designing and implementing on premise and cloud-native application
solutions and defining the respective enterprise standards and blueprints.
FRAMEWORK, BOUNDARIES & DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY
QUALIFICATIONS
• Professional certifications in SOA and Enterprise Architecture is preferred
• Understanding of Banking products, services, and processes is mandatory
• Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect will be a definite plus
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- At least five years’ experience in the Enterprise Architecture domain
- Conduct thorough requirement analysis and translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Lead solution design, ensuring adherence to best practices and methodologies
- Understanding of creating various solution artifacts like integration diagram, deployment diagram, component diagram, business capability matrix, process definition, metamodels etc.
- Develop and maintain architecture diagrams and documentation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Solution Architect or similar role in the banking industry.
- Strong understanding of banking systems and EA practice.
- Relevant certifications in TOGAF, ITIL, SAFe etc
