Software Architect



Position Type: Full-Time



Job Summary:

The Software Architect will play a critical role in shaping the future of our software development practices. This position involves designing and overseeing the setup of software development processes, documenting release processes, ensuring adherence to best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.


Key Responsibilities:


Design and Implement Development Processes:

  • Define and establish efficient software development processes that enhance productivity and quality.
  • Develop coding standards, guidelines, and best practices for the development team.
  • Introduce and maintain tools for version control, code reviews, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD).


Release Process Management:

  • Document and manage the release processes to ensure smooth and reliable software releases.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure all aspects of the release process are executed seamlessly.
  • Develop strategies for automated and manual testing to ensure release quality.


Architectural Oversight:

  • Provide architectural guidance and review technical designs to ensure they meet business requirements and adhere to best practices.
  • Conduct architectural reviews and technical audits to identify areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure alignment between architecture and implementation.


Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement of development and release processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to bring innovative solutions to the organization.
  • Mentor and guide team members to foster a culture of learning and growth.


Documentation and Communication:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for development and release processes.
  • Communicate architectural decisions, plans, and changes effectively to stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all technical documentation is up to date and accessible.


Qualifications:


Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.


Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a software architect or similar role.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in software development languages and frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI), and other development tools.
  • Ability to design scalable distributed systems


Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Understand business requirements and plan development activities.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced environment.
