Job Description

The Senior Engineering Manager leads an organization of 50-80 engineers and is responsible to develop On-Device / Firmware capabilities for HP’s Printers across various Engine Technologies. The organization will also be responsible to develop deep Print domain competencies & technology roadmap, in line with HP’s Product Roadmap, firmware architectural vision and Industry Tech trends. The selected candidate should be able to partner with multiple business units across the overall Print portfolio for strategic planning and the delivery.

The candidate should be a result-oriented leader with experience working on large scale complex programs with multiple stakeholders & in cross-functional teams. Ability to determine goals and matching those with customer requirements and product roadmaps. Adept at leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions, and create collaborative environment for engineering teams to flourish. Direct reports typically include a team of senior technologists, engineering managers, product / program managers.

Has accountability for results in terms of roadmap, direction, organizational capability development, vendor governance and people management. Provides guidance on process improvements and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy for area of responsibility. Plans, manages and monitors operational/tactical activities of Staff.

Experience and Qualifications

  1. A high potential Engineering Leader, typically 15+ years of experience with background in embedded systems & systems engineering.
  2. Has leadership experience creating and leading high-performing R&D teams, including direct reports comprising of senior technologists, engineering managers, product / program managers
  3. Sound technical grounding, ability to develop asset/product roadmap, demonstrated ability to incorporate technology trends into product roadmap, with a business & customer-oriented mindset
  4. Ability to spot white spaces, identify and develop new opportunities.
  5. Demonstrated ability to provide thought leadership, drive change and influence, and handle large ecosystem of stakeholders
  6. Advanced project / program management skills, including working knowledge of SAFe, experience in managing complex global programs, risk management and an superior track record of delivery excellence
  7. Strong communication and analytical thinking. Routinely able to create impactful communication collaterals that can drive influence and impact
  8. Demonstrated ability in management of people and business relationships, building organizational capability & senior talent, managing individual and team productivity and dynamics
  9. Speed as a Habit – can operate in a fast-moving environment, make quick data driven decisions and drive execution rigor to deliver
  10. Demonstrate broad knowledge of corporate organization and policies.
