Description
Squidy is an AI-driven startup that empowers innovators by connecting them with capital to build something people actually want.
We are looking for a Full-time Backend Engineer who can start working from 15th November 2025 and play a key role in shaping our product infrastructure and APIs.
Qualifications & Skills
Proficiency in: Backend: Node.js, Express.js, PostgreSQL, Prisma ORM
Strong understanding of API architecture, authentication systems (JWT, cookies, sessions), and scalable RESTful services
Experience with AWS S3, CloudFront, EC2, and Lambda (or equivalent cloud services)
Familiarity with Stripe and Plaid integrations (preferred)
Experience with AI or automation integrations (OpenAI API, LLM-based systems) is a plus
Strong command of Git, GitHub, and modern CI/CD pipelines
Experience with performance optimization, error handling, and database design
Minimum 5 years of backend development experience (internships count if significant)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (preferred but not mandatory)
What You' ll Do
Design and maintain scalable backend services and APIs powering the Squidy platform
Implement secure authentication and authorization flows for users
Integrate and manage third-party APIs (Stripe, Plaid, Persona, AWS, OpenAI, etc.)
Collaborate with the frontend, AI, and product teams to build seamless user experiences
Optimize database queries and improve overall system performance
Maintain high code quality standards through testing, documentation, and version control
Contribute to the architecture decisions and long-term scalability of the platform
