Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Freelance FPGA Engineer to support the design and development of embedded and industrial control systems. The consultant will work on FPGA-based solutions, optimize real-time embedded systems, and collaborate with academic, government, and industry partners to transition advanced technologies into deployable prototypes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop FPGA-based solutions for embedded and industrial control systems.
  • Use FPGA design tools (Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, ModelSim, etc.) to simulate, test, and optimize real-time embedded systems.
  • Develop and integrate embedded software (C/C++, Python) with microcontrollers, FPGAs, ARM, and/or x86 processors.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, universities, and industry partners on embedded systems research and development.
  • Transition early-stage control and communication systems into working prototypes.
  • Contribute to technical publications, patents, and open-source projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience with a Bachelor's OR 2+ years with a Master's.
  • Strong expertise in FPGA design and development using Verilog and/or VHDL.
  • Hands-on experience with Xilinx and/or Altera FPGAs and design tools (Vivado, Quartus, ModelSim).
  • Experience with real-time embedded applications on microcontrollers, FPGAs, ARM, or x86.
  • Proficiency in embedded software development (C/C++, Python).
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
